The Institute of Marketing in Malawi (IMM) is excited to announce that submissions are now officially open for the 2026 IMM Marketing Excellence Awards, allowing Malawi’s brightest marketers, brands, agencies, public institutions, SMEs, creatives, and sales professionals to compete for the industry’s highest recognition.

Held at the 2026 IMM Annual Marketing Conference, the Marketing Excellence Awards celebrate the ideas, campaigns, people, and organisations that are redefining marketing as we know it through creativity, innovation, measurable impact, and business excellence.

This year’s conference theme is “Marketing Redefined: Sustainability, Ethics and Innovation.” This shows how marketing is evolving its role in driving responsible business growth. The awards seek to recognise professionals and organisations that not only achieve outstanding results but also shape the future of marketing in Malawi.

The 2026 Awards feature 18 categories, spanning the full breadth of the marketing profession. The Institute of Marketing in Malawi (IMM), in partnership with the Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) and the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ), is proud to announce the inaugural Regional Winter School set to take place in Lilongwe, Malawi, at the Bingu International Convention Centre from 10th to 13th June 2026. Held under the theme: “Marketing in the Digital-AI Era: Driving Sustainable Growth and Regional Competitiveness in Africa,”

The Winter School marks the beginning of a rotational regional knowledge-sharing model among the three partner nations, reinforcing long-term cooperation, institutional partnerships and cross-border professional integration within the marketing sector. The initiative seeks to:

  • Encourage cross-border collaboration among practitioners and institutions.
  • Equip professionals with emerging competencies in digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and data analytics;
  • Build a strong shared regional marketing portfolio that positions Southern Africa competitively in the global marketplace.

George Damson, President of the Institute of Marketing in Malawi, welcomed the initiative as a strategic milestone that elevates both professional standards and Malawi’s regional standing. Vanguard Life Assurance Managing Director, Dr. Lilian Moyo, said the product has been introduced to help IMM members cope with the growing financial pressures during times of loss.
